sudo /etc/dbus-1/event.d/25NetworkManager restartOnce that's done, wait for a while for the daemon to refresh itself. Then try to re-associate your machine with an AP.
sudo /etc/dbus-1/event.d/26NetworkManagerDispatcher restart

Restarting NetworkManager in (K)ubuntu
If NetworkManager's acting up on your (K)ubuntu installation, you can restart 2 daemons instead of performing a reboot. Here's what you do:
